Competition Structure

In 2026 we will be running a U10s and U14s Competitions.

The competition will consist of 7 regular rounds and a finals round. in the finals, with the games on the final night being determined by the teams’ positions on the ladder - i.e. 1st will play 2nd, 3rd will play 4th, 5th will play 6th, etc.

If the finals round is unable to be played for any reason (e.g. adverse weather), the team at the top of the ladder in each will be crowned winners.

It is important to note that depending on the team nominations we receive there may be an uneven number of byes and/or games played against specific opposition. Whilst this may cause frustration, by nominating in your team you agree to this potential outcome and future complaints will not be accepted. The draw is system generated to ensure that this is as fair and reasonable a process as possible whilst acknowledging these potential outcomes.

The competition will run from Thursday the 5th of Februray 2026 until the 26th of March 2026 (8 weeks).

The playing rules for the competition can be found here. Due to being limited to a single field, games this year will consist of 20 minute halves.

Weather

Nepean Hockey Association abides by the weather policies for Hockey NSW.

As a general rule, games abandoned under weather provisions will not be replayed at another date. If the game reaches half time, the result as at half time will stand. If the game is abandoned (including games not played at all) prior to half time, the score will be a 3-3 draw in accordance with NHA winter competition senior comp rules.

We will be actively monitoring weather forecasts and in the case of adverse conditions will make a decision based on the 4pm forecast and notify teams by 4.30pm of any changes to the scheduled draw.
